James Clerk Maxwell was hailed as the No 1 Scientist in a National Library of Scotland poll, and the 4th most important topic in Scotland’s History by a BBC poll.
On 13th July 2006 a large group of people gathered to celebrate James Clerk Maxwell's 175th birth anniversary, following a lecture by Dr Basil Mahon the group visited JCM's grave at Parton kirkyard.
